Privacy

Block-Tracker.com is an information site. There are no accounts, no logins and nothing to sign up for, which removes most of what a privacy policy usually has to explain.

What we collect

Server logs. Our web server records ordinary request information — IP address, time, requested page, user agent — as any web server does. These are used for operating the site and diagnosing faults, and are retained only as long as needed for that.

Nothing else, by default. We do not set tracking cookies, we do not run advertising scripts, and we do not use analytics that build a profile of you across sites.

Local storage. If you use the light and dark theme toggle, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key bex-theme. That value never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.

What the lookup tools do

This is the part worth reading, because it is genuinely unusual.

Our multi-chain lookup, fee tracker and network stats query public blockchain APIs directly from your browser. The request does not pass through our servers, which means we never see what you looked up and could not log it if we wanted to.

The trade-off is that the upstream operators do see the request, exactly as they would if you visited their sites. Those are Blockstream, mempool.space, Blockchair and the Solana public RPC, and each has its own privacy policy.

Fonts and assets

All fonts are self-hosted on this domain. We do not load Google Fonts or any other third-party font service, which is a common and rarely-disclosed source of data leakage to a third party on every page load.

Images are served from this domain. We do not embed third-party trackers, social widgets or comment systems.

Links to other sites

Our links out carry no tracking of ours: no affiliate tags, no click identifiers, no referral parameters, because we take no commission on them. Following one still takes you to a third-party site, which may set its own cookies and record its own data. That happens on their site under their policy, not ours.

We do not pass any information about you to those sites beyond what an ordinary link produces.

Your rights

Data protection law in many countries — including the UK and EU GDPR where they apply to you — gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection over personal data we hold. Given that we hold essentially nothing beyond server logs, there is usually little to act on — but if you want to exercise any of these, email contact@block-tracker.com.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle a request, you can complain to the data protection authority for the country you live in.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. We would rather keep the policy short and true than long and aspirational.
