About Block-Tracker.com — Who We Are and What We Do

Block-Tracker.com reviews block explorers and explains how to read what they show you. That is a narrow subject and it is deliberately narrow, because it is the part of crypto where accurate, checkable information is genuinely useful and is unusually hard to find.

Almost everyone who touches cryptocurrency ends up on a block explorer within their first week, usually because something has not arrived. The explorers themselves are technically excellent. Almost none of them explains itself, and several of the most prominent numbers on the page mean something other than what they appear to. That gap is what this site exists to fill.

Who writes this

Everything here is published by the Block-Tracker.com editorial team. We do not attribute articles to individual named authors, and we would rather say that plainly than invent bylines — a practice that is depressingly common in this sector and that we think readers are right to distrust.

What we offer instead is a documented process. Our review methodology sets out the six criteria, how they are weighted, and the fixed set of reference items every explorer is tested against. Where we state a figure, we say where it came from and when we checked it.

How this is funded

We take no commission on anything. There are no affiliate links anywhere on this site, and we are not paid when a reader follows a link out. Every external link here is an ordinary link.

Nobody in our directory pays us. Ratings are not for sale, we do not accept payment for inclusion, and no firm sees its score before it is published. Our editorial policy sets out how we would handle a commercial relationship if we ever took one, and what it would not be allowed to affect.

What we do not do

We are not a broker, an exchange, a custodian or a financial adviser. We never hold funds, we have no wallet integration, and we will never ask for a seed phrase, a private key or an account password. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, or a personal recommendation.

We also do not publish figures we have not verified. There are no fee comparison tables on the exchange pages, because we have not tested them and a stale fee table is worse than none. Where a fact could not be confirmed from a first-party source, we leave it out rather than estimate.

Corrections

We get things wrong. When you find something, tell us at contact@block-tracker.com and we will check it and fix it. Regulatory facts change, free API tiers change, and explorers are acquired and shut down — several of the things on this site were true when written and will not stay true forever.

What we will not do is add an explorer or a firm because someone paid us to, so please do not open with that.
